About Primary Health Tasmania

Primary Health Tasmania is a non-government, not-for-profit organisation working to connect care and keep Tasmanians well and out of hospital. We are one of 31 similar organisations funded under the Australian Government’s Primary Health Networks Program established to support and enable a coordinated, primary care-focused health system.

Primary Health Tasmanian operates statewide with offices in Hobart, Launceston and Ulverstone and has strong relationships with a broad range of private, public and community sector organisations across primary, acute, aged and social care. This puts us in good stead in our push for a coordinated, primary care-focused health system delivering right care in the right place at the right time by the right people.

Skills we are particularly looking for

Primary Health Tasmania is committed to developing a strong and diverse Board where individual members bring unique strengths to the organisation. Applications are sought from people with strong professional governance skills and expertise across at least 2 industry skill areas - these are outlined in the skills matrix. Priority areas include general practice, primary health care, and health service design and delivery. Regional representation is considered as part of the Board profile.

The Board welcome and encourage applications from people across our community, especially from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We recognise the richness that diversity brings to our organisation.
