About the opportunity

We are seeking an adaptable and proactive Health Program Manager to join our Program Operations team to work as one of two program managers providing leadership and accountability for the delivery of complex health initiatives undertaken by Primary Health Tasmania.

A key focus of the role is providing strategic direction to, and escalation path, for a team of Health Project Leads (project managers) responsible for the delivery of projects and activities across several targeted health areas such as Chronic Conditions, Aged Care, Multicultural Primary Care, Homelessness Access, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and after hours care.

What you would be doing

Reporting to the General Manager you will:

  • Establish and lead a high performing team of Health Projects Leads
  • Support the initiation of new projects
  • Facilitate program planning in collaboration with teams from across the organisation and ongoing monitoring of progress
  • Provide strategic oversight in delivery and implementation of projects
  • Ensure a coordinated approach to external stakeholder engagement
  • Be responsible for the program team’s operational management including workload allocation, budget management, project funding compliance and procurement
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of program and project management functions.

Here's what you’ll look like

  • Relevant business, program/project management or similar qualifications
  • Experience across any of the health areas of focus is highly regarded
  • Proven success in leading and managing teams
  • Advanced program/project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively, plan and prioritise, solve problems and be adaptable in a fast paced, complex operational environment
  • Ability to travel if required (intrastate and interstate).
