About the opportunity

An important part of what we do at Primary Health Tasmania is coordinate and implement multiple simultaneous health programs and projects, valued at over $50 million annually, to improve the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians. Our program management team is high-performing and our new PMO Manager will take it to the next level.

This exciting new role is all about bringing consistency and good governance to our program management and project management practices, nurturing a positive project management culture, and offering valuable strategic advice to our executive leaders.

What you would be doing

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead, inspire and shape program management strategy. Your key focus areas will be:

  • Work with Program Managers and the General Manager to develop and maintain our project and program platform, frameworks and methodologies.
  • Set up governance structures to ensure smooth and effective decision-making.
  • Standardise project management practices and be the go-to person for guidance, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Streamline processes to make our program management and project management more efficient and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Provide regular performance reports for the Program Governance Board, General Manager, sponsors and stakeholders with valuable insights and advice.

Here's what you’ll look like

  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in project/program management, especially in the business or health sector.
  • Skills: Advanced project management skills with demonstrable practical experience with program and project management tools, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading teams to high performance in complex environments.
  • Influence: Strong skills in building relationships and influencing stakeholders to achieve goals.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently with excellent problem-solving skills
