About the Role

Join a knowledgeable, experienced and well-established Finance team in an organisation where you can truly make a difference. Reporting to the Executive Manager Finance and Analytics, this is a complex and varied role where you will take ownership of accounts receivable and NDIS billing processes, assist with reconciliations and month end processes, and provide backup support to other members of the broader Finance team. This opportunity could be suited to someone with existing Assistant Accountant experience; a recent graduate with entry level accounts experience looking to take the next step in their career; or an established professional seeking a role that provides greater work life balance and a sense of purpose. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creation of invoices for funders, NDIS, clients, tenants, validating data across multiple systems
  • Management of accounts receivable, including invoicing, receipting and debt collection
  • Provide support with reconciliations, cash analysis, credit cards and petty cash
  • Assist with month end reporting
  • Provide backup support for end-to-end payroll processing
  • Continuous improvement initiatives, streamlining processes and procedures as appropriate
  • Other ad hoc duties to support the Finance team

Skills and Experience required 

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Accounting 
  • Demonstrated experience in finance related role 
  • Strong technical skills with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage / manipulate high volume data

This is a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation which is experiencing an exciting period of growth, specialising in supporting people who face challenges due to mental health and social disadvantage. They have multiple service sites across Queensland and a national Telehealth service, with head office operations located in the inner southern suburbs of Brisbane.
