ADA Australia is a statewide, not-for-profit, independent, community-based advocacy and education service, supporting and improving the wellbeing of older people and people with disability. ADA Australia has nine offices throughout Queensland, with its head office located in Geebung.

We are seeking applications for a permanent, full-time Team Leader Disability Advocacy based in either Brisbane or the Gold Coast. The role is classified as a SACS level 6.1 position under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.

In this role, you will oversee and manage a team of Disability Advocates located across Queensland who provide information, referral, support, and representation to ADA Australia clients, focusing on individuals with disabilities, their families, or unpaid caregivers. The aim is to ensure they have access to disability advocacy that promotes and protects their full and equal enjoyment of all human rights.

We are seeking individuals who have demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills to foster a strong, cohesive team. Candidates should possess an understanding of and experience in providing disability support and advocacy, particularly in assisting vulnerable individuals with disabilities within complex settings or situations.

A recent staff engagement survey reported 97% of our staff voted ADA Australia as a truly great place to work. We believe that every employee brings a unique perspective, opinion and life skills that not only serves as a foundation for the work we undertake, but truly help form the way we conduct our business. ADA Australia offers a flexible, family friendly and inclusive workplace, where diversity is celebrated, and our workplace culture is built on respect, dignity and fairness.

We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, the LGBTIQ+ community and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
