• Hours: Full time (37.5 hrs per/wk). Flexibility in working outside standard office hours may be required

• Employment terms: This is a permanent position, with a 3 month probationary period.
• Remuneration: $102,818 - $109,831 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and 17.5% holiday leave loading. You will also receive Christmas-New Years as additional paid leave on top of four weeks of annual leave.

Queensland Conservation Council is the state’s peak non-government environment group. Our mission is to protect our natural environment and climate and make Queensland communities more sustainable.

We achieve our goals by advocating to the government, engaging with the community and informing through the media. We apply the latest scientific research to develop policies. We monitor progress and rate the performance of governments, their programs, and companies, holding them accountable to their commitments to the environment. Incorporated in 1969, we are a non-profit community organisation with no political affiliations.

We have a membership of 62 environment groups throughout Queensland, who we consult and coordinate with. We’re growing, with 22 staff, and an ambitious plan to grow the Environment movement in Queensland.

About the Role

QCC is seeking a best-in-class fundraiser to manage and grow our major donor, trust and foundations and bequest programs and help build our overall fundraising program.

Key responsibilities and duties

• Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, and manage the organisation’s philanthropy pipeline over the financial year.
• Research and identify new fundraising prospects, including individuals, corporations, and trusts & foundations, and build strategies to engage them.
• Work with the campaign teams to write compelling grant proposals, submit applications to foundations, and manage reporting requirements for grant-funded projects.
• Organise fundraising events to engage the donor community and boost donations.
• Manage QCC’s regular giving program and twice-yearly appeals cycle, working with external suppliers.
• Develop a long term vision and strategy for QCC’s fundraising program in collaboration with the Deputy Director, Director and Fundraising sub-Committee.
• Maintain QCC’s CRM and administrative systems for managing donors and donations, including payment systems (Stripe) and third-party platforms issuing tax receipts, responding to donor queries, etc.
• Analyse and report on fundraising results making recommendations for further improvement, presenting results and recommendations at a monthly Fundraising sub-Committee.

Selection Criteria

1. Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Marketing or Fundraising or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/ training.
2. At least 3 years’ experience in not-for-profit fundraising working across multiple fundraising streams
3. A passion for protecting the environment.
4. Demonstrated success in donor stewardship strategies to engage, retain and grow a strong community of supporters and increase income.
5. Proven experience in managing and maintaining a customer relations database (experience with Nationbuilder preferred but not essential).
6. Demonstrated knowledge of data-driven marketing methods including split-testing, audience segmentation, and user targeting.
7. Excellent writing skills and experience in writing for appeals, digital communications, social media and websites.
8. Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible approach when working in a team.
