Your new role

  • Full time, Fixed term up to June 2025
  • Located in Wagga Wagga NSW or Deakin, ACT
  • Annual salary between $95,557.70 to $99,848.89

The position provides trauma-informed therapeutic case management to survivors of child sexual abuse who are considering applying to the National Redress Scheme.

The Case Manager provides client focused support in a trauma informed context as well as to provide accurate information about the scheme and to assist completing Redress Applications.

The Case Manager also works collaboratively with other service providers within a community context.

Duties

Under the direction of the Manager and Senior Clinician, the Case Manager is responsible for:

  • Supporting individuals with complex childhood trauma to re-engage with self-determined services.
  • Providing information and assisting clients in completing and submitting applications about the National Redress Scheme, Find and Connect, and Forced Adoption programs.
  • Conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans, and offering crisis intervention support when necessary.
  • Documenting clients' childhood experiences and providing sensitive documentation.

What you’ll need to succeed

  1. Relevant experience and qualification in the field of Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Counselling or Social Science.
  2. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively engage over the telephone.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of providing support to clients with complex mental health and functional challenges and supporting clients in crisis that is strengths based and trauma informed.
  4. Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with community stakeholders.
