At Raise we exist to help young people. We do one thing, and we do it really well – youth mentoring.
Our best-practice, school-based program is proven to make positive and sustained change. Mentoring empowers young people to be resilient, connected and hopeful for the future. We match trained volunteers with teenagers who would benefit most from an independent, caring adult who is there to listen – and be there just for them.
Our early intervention youth mentoring program is currently in over 180 high schools across Australia. This translates to over 2,500 young people matched with a qualified mentor, and we are growing each year.
Please note this role requires that you have qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.
Our Program Counsellors are responsible for managing all aspects of our best-practice youth mentoring programs in their designated schools. The role is responsible for the successful implementation, delivery and completion of the program, including professional supervision of mentors and mentees, key stakeholder communication and quality reporting.
As a Program Counsellor you will be a dynamic, engaging and passionate professional with qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.
You are a community minded individual with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of young people. Your vibrant personality will engage both the mentees and volunteer mentors during the session each week, as the nature of this role requires you to lead group activities in the session, supervise the mentoring matches and facilitate a debrief with the mentors each week.
Your outstanding skills in communication and organisation will see your programs run smoothly with the partnering school, as you will work closely with an appointed school contact to ensure a high standard of program delivery. Most importantly, you are someone who really understands young people.
Your excellent interpersonal skills will be underpinned by your outstanding attention to detail, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office to ensure that all administrative requirements of your program are in place. Experience with Salesforce, another CRM or a willingness to learn is ideal.
You will have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Crime check.
You will report to and work closely with your Program Area Manager.
Raise Foundation is committed to being a Youth Safe, Youth Friendly organisation and will, for all children and young people who come into contact with our programs:
Six values that express our shared understanding of what we believe, how we would like others to see our personality, what we aspire to as an organisation, and how we aim to behave:
