What you’ll do

You’ll provide high quality family therapy to young people (aged 10 – 21) and their families to enhance, repair and strengthen family relationships. You’ll use a Family Systems Framework in your work to address a range of issues including relationship difficulties, conflict, family upheavals due to separation and divorce, loss or trauma, addiction, self-harm, suicide ideation and other mental health presentations. Sessions will be face to face, on-line, and by telephone.

The details

  • Part time position (3 or 4 days per week) in Parramatta
  • $45-50 per hour (depending on skills & experience) + 11.5% super, 17.5% leave loading and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900. (Increase your take home pay! Calculate Your Savings at https://www.salary.com.au/calculate-your-savings)

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology or equivalent
  • Post-grad qualifications or training in Counselling or Couple and Family Therapy
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in family therapy or counselling young people and/or families. This could include working in a mental health service
  • Strong understanding of matters impacting young people like social media, technology, family dynamics, domestic and family violence, child safety, abuse, addiction, mental health and wellbeing
  • A calm, professional and compassionate approach when engaging with clients
