Relationships Australia NSW (RANSW) provides a safe, judgement-free environment where individuals, couples and families can address the critical matters impacting their relationships, and their lives.

What you’ll do

You will deliver high-quality, trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic casework services to individuals affected by forced adoption practices. A key aspect of your success will be your ability to establish trust and create a secure environment for your clients. You’ll:

• Apply structured counselling techniques to support client change
• Conduct sessions through various channels, including in-person, online and via phone following organisational policies and procedures
• Offer comprehensive services from referral to case closure, handling both clinical and administrative responsibilities according to the case plan

The details

• Part-Time contract until 30/06/2025
• Based at Parramatta, work 3 or 4 days a week
• $46 - $51 per hour (depending on skills and experience) + 11% super, 17.5% leave loading and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900. (Increase your take home pay! Calculate Your Savings here)

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Science, Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or equivalent, with an understanding of the systemic approach
• Be registered or eligible for membership with Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation Australia as a clinical member or Australian Counselling Association (Level 3 or 4) or Australian Association of Social Workers
• The use of structured evidence-informed counselling modalities to respond to the challenges facing our clients
• Ability to provide quality casework to develop individual tailored case plans and coordinate referral to suit client need
• Understanding of history of Forced Adoption in Australia and of the issues/ barriers faced by people impacted, including the long-term impact
