What you’ll do

As our Domestic & Family Sexual Violence Linker, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading initiatives aimed at addressing and preventing Domestic Family and Sexual Violence within the community.

You'll provide training, support, and coordination services to healthcare professionals, general practices, and relevant service providers and empower healthcare professionals to create safe spaces for disclosures and ensure that survivors receive the support they need. 

  • Implement the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) Linker Service Coordination and Primary Care Training Program in liaison with the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network 
  • Proactively engage with general practices, supporting the delivery of Recognise, Respond and Refer training to enable safe disclosures of DFSV and meaningful referrals
  • Provide expert advice and support services to facilitate timely referrals and patient support for people affected by DFSV 
  • Engage directly with individuals who are experiencing DFSV to connect them with the appropriate support services  
  • Collaborate with local health districts and relevant service providers to strengthen support systems 
  • Manage data and reporting requirements to ensure program effectiveness 

The details:

  • Full time 2-year contract  
  • $44 – 49 per hour (depending on skills and experience)  + 11.5% super, 17.5% leave loading and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900. (Increase your take home pay! Calculate Your Savings at https://www.salary.com.au/calculate-your-savings) 
  • Based in Penrith with travel in the Hawkesbury & Nepean region 
  • Potential to work from home at times in line with business needs 
  • Valid NSW Class C driver's licence and own comprehensively insured motor vehicle 
  • Flexibility to work outside of business hours on occasion where required  

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong knowledge and skills in working with DFV
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community development, social work, social welfare, health promotion or similar field, supported by relevant experience 
  • Skills and experience in capacity building activities, including training and coaching 
  • Skills and experience in health promotion and capacity building activities including providing incidental or informal training in how to use a DVSAT, patient safety planning etc.
  • Knowledge of the local service system, and ability to facilitate effective referrals 
  • Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective partnerships and working collaboratively with other organisations
