What you'll do

You'll deliver school-based Relationship Education Group Work Programs for youth with multicultural backgrounds. Your lived experience and diverse perspective will influence our program design and delivery to resonate more closely with the communities we serve. You’ll:

• Apply person centred, trauma informed, practice and strength-based approach to working with young people
• Understand the key issues for children and young people with multicultural backgrounds
• Assess and refer clients to relevant services according to client identified need
• Promote and support the work of the RANSW and Community Builders in Northern Sydney District

The details:

• Casual role based in West Ryde
• Able to travel to various schools and locations in the Northern Sydney region
• Approx $37 - $40 per hour (depending on skills & experience) + 30% casual loading + 11.5% super, 17.5% leave loading and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900. (Increase your take home pay! Calculate Your Savings at https://www.salary.com.au/calculate-your-savings)
• Main groups run 3 hours per week on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and for a full day at the start and end of each school term

What you'll bring

• Bilingual speaking - fluent in English and Korean/Mandarin/South Asian languages is highly desirable
• Relevant qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work, health promotion, adult education, community welfare or similar field including group work training
• Two years’ experience in community Development and/or multicultural specific role
• Community development and project management experience is desirable
• Demonstrated experience in delivering quality customer service to internal/external customers
• Cultural experience and understanding in working with vulnerable individuals, families, children and young people
