What you’ll do

As our Project Lead / Sexual Violence Linker, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading the implementation of the Sexual Violence & Child Sexual Abuse Local Linker service coordination and primary care training program. You'll provide training, support, and coordination services to healthcare professionals, general practices, and relevant service providers, empowering healthcare professionals to create safe spaces for disclosures and ensure that survivors receive the support they need.

  • Implement the Linker Service Coordination and Primary Care Training Program in liaison with the Hunter, New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECC)
  • Proactively engage with general practices and co-deliver Sexual Violence and Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) training to enable safe disclosures by patients and meaningful referrals
  • Provide expert advice and support services to facilitate timely referrals and patient support for people affected by child sexual assault and sexual violence
  • Work as part of a triage referral team engaging directly with individuals who have experienced child sexual violence
  • Collaborate with local health districts and relevant service providers to strengthen support systems
  • Manage data and reporting requirements to ensure program effectiveness
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with relevant networks and providers in the Hunter-New England and Central Coast areas
  • Manage and mentor a dedicated team member to successfully drive the program forward

The details

  • Part-Time 2-year contract
  • Hybrid working, based in Newcastle with frequent regional travel
  • $51 – 54 per hour (depending on skills and experience) + leave loading + super + salary packaging benefits

  • Valid NSW Class C driver's licence and own comprehensively insured motor vehicle
  • Flexibility to work outside of business hours on occasion where required

What you’ll bring:

  • 3 –5 years of demonstrated experience working with child sexual abuse and or sexual violence
  • Skills and experience in capacity building activities, including training and coaching
  • Strong knowledge of the local service system, and ability to facilitate effective referrals
  • Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective partnerships and working collaboratively with other organisations
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community development, social work, social welfare, health promotion or similar field, supported by relevant experience
