What you’ll do
As our Senior Group Facilitator, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving and supporting the Children and Parenting Support (CAPS) Program forward. Your role will be instrumental in delivering purposeful psychoeducational programs that positively impact the lives of families and young people in the local community.
In this role, you will:
- Facilitate high-quality psychoeducational groups, including various school-based, in-person and online groups
- Manage client intake and oversee all related administration
- Ensure accurate data collection and reporting
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to program staff
- Promote diversity and cultural sensitivity by incorporating inclusive practices in all group activities, ensuring respect and understanding for different cultural perspectives
- Apply person centred, trauma informed, practice and strength-based approach to working with clients
- Lead groups, creating a therapeutic learning environment for clients to explore individual, couple and family relationship issues
Details
- 3 days a week with occasional Saturday availability required
- Based at Blacktown with travel to schools within the region required

- 12-month contract with possibility to extend

What you’ll bring
- Relevant qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work, health promotion, adult education, community welfare or similar field
- Certification in School-Based Groupwork Programs is highly desirable (e.g. Friends, Circle of Security, Tuning in to Kids, Bringing Up Great Kids, or equivalent programs)
- Proven experience and skills as a clinical supervisor, providing guidance and support to staff
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people and families
- Demonstrated ability to manage group dynamics and facilitate positive interactions between parents and children
- Ability to work independently and proactively with a focus on driving the performance and success of the program forward
- Training and experience in working in an educational context with children in any of the following areas
- Working with domestic violence;
- Parenting groups;
- Children/Youth in groups
