What you'll do

As a Support Worker in our Children's Contact Centre, your role will be to ensure safe interactions between children, young people and their parents or carers. You’ll:

  • Facilitate Supervised Visits: Oversee child-centered, supervised contact sessions, ensuring that visits are safe, supportive, and focused on the well-being of the child or young person
  • Coordinate Safe Transfers: Ensure smooth, conflict-free transitions during child-parent exchanges, helping to initiate and maintain engaging activities
  • Provide Administrative Support: Assist with essential administrative duties, including maintaining accurate records and case notes

The details:

  • Casual role based in Broadmeadow
  • Able to work Saturdays and ad hoc shifts as required
  • Approx $37 - $38 per hour (depending on skills & experience) + 30% casual loading + 11.5% super, 17.5% leave loading and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900. (Increase your take home pay! Calculate Your Savings at https://www.salary.com.au/calculate-your-savings)

What you'll bring:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of children and young people
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate activities that foster engagement and comfort for children and young people during supervised visits
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of family separation, domestic violence, and conflict on children and young people
  • Experience working with both children and adults displaying challenging behaviours, equipped with the skills to manage these situations calmly and effectively
  • Awareness of cultural issues and proven conflict management abilities, helping to navigate complex situations with neutrality and care
  • Tertiary qualifications (or progression towards) in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded
