New Graduate in Learning Design

We are looking for a recent graduate who has completed their Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent within the last two years and has an interest in learning design and/or medical education. By working closely with learning designers, evaluation and accreditation officers and medical educators, you will set a strong foundation for a rewarding career in learning design and/or medical education. You will gain hands-on experience in aligning education related data with curriculum and develop an understanding of medical education and training in Australia and New Zealand. The successful applicant will support the mapping of training experience of specialist ophthalmology trainees at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) accredited posts to the RANZCO Vocational Training Program (VTP) curriculum.

This role will suit a recent graduate who is looking to progress their career in areas of learning design and/or medical education.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) is the medical college responsible for the training and professional development of ophthalmologists in Australia and New Zealand. RANZCO is the only specialist medical college accredited to train ophthalmologists. We’re a membership organisation of 42 staff, located adjacent to Central station.

The Role

The successful applicant will work independently and with other RANZCO staff and members, RANZCO Committees and other stakeholders to:

  • Link existing trainee experience/exposure data with their surgical experience
  • Develop interactive map in Excel or other software to visualise how curriculum requirements can be met by trainees through various training pathways
  • Present the proposed training pathways to relevant RANZCO Committees and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with RANZCO learning designers to incorporate the learnings from this project into other RANZCO resources as required
  • Work collaboratively and flexibly with RANZCO members, staff and other stakeholders to meet the goals of the organisation

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in Education or equivalent within the last two years
  • Knowledge of statistics and data linkage
  • Proficient in MS Excel and/or SPSS and data visualisation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to cope with competing demands
  • Willingness to learn and develop

Desirable:

  • Background in linking data from multiple datasets
