We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced administrative professional to join our administrative team at our headspace centre in Wonthaggi.

About headspace and RAV:

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers core areas including mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is the lead agency for headspace Bairnsdale, which is governed by a consortium of local community organisations who provide expertise, support and advice to RAV. RAV is a secular, community-based, not-for-profit organisation with no religious affiliations who have been providing services to the Victorian community for over 70 years. Our vision is for “positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships for all Australians”. Our objective is to relieve suffering, distress and helplessness and to enhance physical, social and emotional wellbeing. RAV provides services from centres across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

About the role

Reporting to the Centre Manager headspace Wonthaggi, your day-to-day work will be supervised by our Client Service Coordinator. You will provide an efficient, welcoming first point of contact for clients and people contacting RAV about services and programs, responding in a helpful manner via phone and in person. You will provide organisational and administrative support to management and staff, undertake basic assessment of client service needs and manage the coordination, booking, data entry and processing of client appointments.

This position will be based at our headspace centre in Wonthaggi. The successful candidate will be working part-time, three (3) days per week on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2023, with the potential to extend subject to continued funding.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Office Administration certificate and/or previous experience in a similar administration capacity.
  • Proven experience answering high volume inbound calls, delivering high quality customer service, ideally within a medical or health care related environment.
  • Demonstrate a high level of skill in dealing with clients with complex needs in a supportive, empathetic and effective manner, to remain calm under pressure, problem solve and make effective decisions in potentially stressful situations.
  • High level of confidentiality to ensure client personal and financial information is maintained.
  • Proven track record in managing priorities, organising priorities with excellent attention to detail

What we offer

A competitive salary package is on offer to the successful candidate with a base salary range of $68,517 (pro-rata) per annum, superannuation and access to salary packaging.
