We have on offer two (2) exciting opportunities for motivated and experienced counsellors at our Sunshine centre to join Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) in this important role with staff who have been delivering effective client focused services and outcomes for over 70 years in Victoria.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Western Melbourne, and working closely with the Sunshine team, your responsibilities include the provision of high quality, culturally sensitive relationship counselling and therapy, including education programs to individuals, couples, and families. Counsellors will have expertise in childhood development and family dynamics and be able to respond to a diverse range of issues: including trauma, violence, and abuse, parenting concerns, stress and anxiety, separation and divorce and blended families.

There are two (2) positions available: one (1) permanent position, part-time, three (3) days per week and one (1) fixed-term position covering parental leave until January 2023. The fixed-term position is available at a full-time capacity but can be negotiated for part-time hours (3 or 4 days per week).

Both positions are based at our Sunshine Family Services Provider centre. The successful candidates will be required to work an evening each week (Tuesday or Thursday) to deliver services to meet the community needs.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline including family therapy, social work, counselling, psychology.
  • Previous supervised professional experience in relationship counselling and family violence.
  • Demonstrated application of therapeutic modalities relevant to working with individuals, couples, and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and couples where family violence is present and accurately assess for family violence.
  • Understand and be able to practically apply relevant legislative regulations.

What we offer

A competitive salary package is on offer to the successful candidates with a base salary range of $86k to $92k (pro-rata for part-time position) per annum, superannuation, and access to salary packaging.
