Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House is a wonderful place to be! We have a strategic focus on community development in a small, but growing regional town, and the Skills Connect Project Coordinator will play a key role in achieving our vision of being ‘The Heart and Hub of the Community’.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Supported by the Community Engagement Manager, the Skills Connect Project Coordinator will actively coordinate the development and evaluation of a new program model to build volunteer capacity in the local area of Riddells Creek, with the aim of widening access to the model developed across other Neighbourhood Houses and community organisations.

This is a part time / 15hrs per week over a six month contract with a deadline to fulfil a successful grant by 30 June 2025.

The project will coordinate and connect local community organisations with appropriately skilled volunteers. This will involve reaching out to new potential volunteers in the community, identifying skills and capabilities and reaching out to community groups and identifying their needs. Then bringing this together to link appropriately skilled volunteers with local organisations that are a good match.

ABOUT YOU

Are you a 'can-do' person? Well this is perfect for you! We are looking for the person who has:

  • Experience working for a community based not-for-profit organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting volunteers for program and activities.
  • Experience delivering training and workshops in community settings.
  • Excellent general communication and writing skills with competency using technology (including proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, Canva, and social media platforms)
  • Experience using social media and other promotional activities (publicity, editorial, etc.) to generate public awareness with demonstrated successful engagement with projects.
  • An ability to work with limited supervision, to set priorities, monitor workflow, and meet tight deadlines.
  • The ability to use initiative to respond to opportunities or challenges and well-developed problem-solving skills.
