Overview of position

The Advertising and Sponsorships manager plays an important role in our communications team, including the editors of Sanctuary and Renew magazines, to maintain excellent relationships with advertising clients in the sustainability sector to deliver advertising targets for both of our quarterly magazines.

Additionally, the role is also responsible for bringing in sponsorship support for events run by Renew and building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure that key programs such as Sustainable House Day are able to grow over time.

Summary of key tasks and responsibilities

• Building and maintaining relationships, keeping advertisers updated and informed about Renew’s areas of influence and opportunities.
• Meet advertising targets for Sanctuary and Renew in a timely manner.
• Maintain a register of Renew’s advertising and sponsorship relationships.
• Generate new advertising and sponsorship relationships and opportunities and follow up on leads from the team.
• Develop high quality and accurate advertising, marketing, and promotional materials.
• Manage administration of advertising accounts, including:
  • Respond to advertising enquiries and bookings in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records on the communication between clients, graphic designers, and advertising houses.
  • Facilitate payment of accounts.
• Advise the team with regards to growing and maintaining high profile sponsor relationships.
• Other tasks as directed.

Selection Criteria

• A sound understanding of how to deliver marketing and sales outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of stakeholders including businesses, consultants, NGOs, and government officials.
• A track record of closing deals and ensuring successful contractual relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and a capacity to maintain warm, collaborative and forthright relationships with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in database management and graphic design software, including InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, and Adobe Acrobat.

Selection Criteria (Desirable)

• Relevant tertiary diploma or degree qualifications –in Marketing/Business or similar &/or other relevant qualifications combined with appropriate experience and sound discipline knowledge gained through experience, training or education.

• An understanding of sustainability issues.

Work arrangements

• Renew supports a flexible hybrid model of mostly working from home and occasionally in the office. This position could be based outside of Melbourne (within Australia) for the right candidate and work from home in a fully remote capacity.
• Occasional out of hours meetings/events and occasional travel.
• Part-time position (0.6FTE) with hours/days of work negotiable.
• Salary of $87,126 (FTE) calculated pro-rata + leave loading
