Resilient Lismore is a grassroots, community-led organisation that first formed during the 2017 floods in Lismore, NSW.
It is a community based charitable organisation supporting Lismore residents and businesses in their recovery by connecting them with volunteer help, donated goods and materials, information and services.
Our purpose is to mitigate the impacts of poverty, disadvantage and suffering that result from natural disasters, through the mobilisation of both spontaneous and formal offers of help in the recovery effort.
- Location: Lismore
- Hours: Part-time, 21.5 hours per week Tuesday to Thursday 8:30 to 4:30
- Contract: 12 months
- Award: Level 2.4 SCHADS
- Salary: $35.14 per hour, plus 11% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading
Position Summary
This contract position has been created to support the community by providing face to face support, referrals and information as part of Resilient Lismore’s community-led disaster recovery programs. This position will support Resilient Lismore’s aim to help residents to get back home, provide referrals to outside agencies and identify needs as required.
This position will provide assessment of incoming inquiries from community members. Provide direct support such as referrals, resources, and job requests. Provide strong administrative support relating to intake and allocation of resources and wellbeing interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House
- Supervise and support the operations of the front of house and concierge desk at the Resilient Lismore Hub.
- Engage with community members seeking assistance as required, provide intake and referral assistance and advice.
- Manage administration and record keeping as directed by the Intake and Referral Coordinator and Volunteer and Logistics Manager.
- Build job lists and support rebuild volunteers under the direction of the Volunteer and Logistics Manager, the Field Coordinator and the Project Officers.
- Help arrange accommodation, transport and reimbursement for staff and volunteers as required.
- Assist in the management of RL hub rosters.
- Assist the Project Management team with task management and coordination as required using the RL project management platform using Monday.com
- Assist the Repair to return team with administration and accounts.
Wellbeing
- Ensure all interactions are in line with trauma informed Care Practice guidelines.
- Provide direct low-level crisis intervention including accidental counselling and mental health first aid and make appropriate referrals.
- Assist in management of the administration of wellbeing clinics.
- Work collaboratively with relevant external service providers to ensure support is trauma informed.
Donations Coordination
- Action incoming donation offers made via email, social media and in person
- Maintain accurate records of all donations, including tracking the type and quantity of donations received and location of goods.
- Coordinate the collection, storage, and distribution of donations.
- Ensure that donations are distributed fairly and equitably to those in need.
- Promote Resilient Lismore's mission and donation efforts through outreach and communication with the community.
- Provide regular reports to the Intake and Referral Coordinator and Volunteer and Logistics Manager r on the status of donations and any issues that arise.
- Manage and submit Givit Applications for flood affected community members.
Reporting
- Reports to the Volunteers and Logistics Manager and works closely with other team members.
Skills/Experience
- Mental first aid/accidental counselling and/or other relevant training
- Understanding of Trauma Informed Care and implementation of TIC practice.
- Experience with working with vulnerable and marginalised people
- Experience in an administration / office environment including strong organisational and communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in or the ability to learn Monday.com and other digital platforms used by Resilient Lismore
- Understanding of Risk Management and OH&S
- Connected to the community and sound knowledge of community service
- Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, staff, community members and service providers.
Highly Desirable:
- Cert IV in Community Services or equivalent experience in non-profit community organisations
