Volunteer Engagement Coordinator - Flexible Location - Remote / Work From Home

Results Australia

ABOUT US

Results International (Australia) is part of a global network of organisations working to bring an end to poverty. Results has been operating in Australia for 35 years through both staff-led and volunteer-driven advocacy at a grassroots, national and global level.

We work with parliamentarians, the media and members of the community to influence political decisions that will bring an end to extreme poverty. This includes pushing for an increase in Australia’s overseas aid budget and increased pledges to multilateral bodies that work on global health.

At the global level we work closely with our partner ACTION to improve equitable access to health and in Australia we act as the Secretariat to the Australian TB Caucus.

We are respected for our advocacy work and have a high profile in Australia’s Federal Parliament and in the international development sector. For more on our work and impact, see this short video.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for someone with a passion for international development and global health to join our Advocacy team and lead our engagement with volunteer Advocates to influence policy change and resourcing for global health.

The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator reports to the Advocacy Manager and is part of the Advocacy team, which drives our evidence-based advocacy and policy work. The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator leads our work to recruit, on-board and support volunteer Advocates, manages our Global Health Fellowship program for young Australian changemakers, and builds our relationships with partners in Australia and overseas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the work of Results to engage and recruit new Advocates to grow our movement working for transformational change
  • Manage the Global Health Fellowship Program, a learning and volunteer program for young people, which includes a face-to-face learning retreat
  • Coordinate workshops, events and meetings (both online and face-to-face)
  • Work with the team to drive engagement on social media, with partners and in the community
  • Support the organisation's policy work on global health and contribute to operational planning and reporting
  • Represent Results on relevant working groups within the sector, and collaborate with our international network
  • Support other work across the organisation as required.

Results is part of an international partnership and the ability to work outside normal office hours and take part in occasional calls after hours is a must. The role also involves domestic travel.

  • Is passionate about citizen-led advocacy to end global poverty
  • Has integrity, humility and a positive can-do attitude
  • Is a strategic thinker, with the ability to relate detail to the big picture, and visa-versa
  • Is capable of working autonomously, in a remote team based across Australia.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Experience in recruiting, overseeing and inspiring volunteers
  • Experience in facilitating meetings, training sessions and events, both online and face-to-face
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight budgets and as part of a small team

  • Experience in donor stewardship, event management or fundraising.

This is a part-time position (0.8 FTE or 28.8 hours per week), with an annual salary of $73,500 pro-rata plus superannuation. Full-time candidates may also be considered.

Results employees are entitled to salary packaging, which increases take-home pay. Our staff are located in cities across Australia, and we are looking for candidates ideally in Melbourne or Sydney.
