SUMMARY
Rewiring Australia’s Supporter Relations Associate is a new, high-impact fundraising role in an influential, rapidly-growing think-tank and “do-tank”. It is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, early-career fundraising professional or someone with sales or stakeholder experience. The successful application will gain valuable experience with Australian and international climate grantmakers, family offices and a growing base of individuals donating to Rewiring Australia.
Supporter Relations Associate will contribute to the documentation of donors and donations, including campaign administration and reporting; administration of grant applications and acquittals; CRM management; donation tracking; donor research, recruitment and stewardship; and event management.

Last year, Rewiring Australia’s advocacy resulted in $2.0 billion in government funding to accelerate electrification.
REPORTING & RELATIONSHIPS
- Report to Fundraising Manager
- Work closely with Executive Director, Mobilisation & Engagement Manager, Executive and Communications Assistant.
REMUNERATION, BENEFITS AND TERMS
- $90,000 annual salary plus standard superannuation entitlements
- 6-month contract with a possibility for extension, funding dependant
- FTE 0.6 to FTE1, dependent on applicant's preferences, with some out-of-hours work required
- Standard leave entitlements
- Working from home, preferably in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to Donor Management System (DMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other fundraising systems through activities that include data entry, reporting and research.
- Conduct research related to donors to drive fundraising recruitment and stewardship.
- Lead fundraising and other supporter events (both in person and online) to drive stewardship and recognition.
- Support the development of fundraising collateral, including prospectus, presentations, and written communication.
- Oversee the development and distribution of gifts and merchandise that support recognition, including online distribution channels.
- Identify and track grant opportunities and contribute to developing applications and acquittals.
- Work with the Rewiring Australia team to identify opportunities that profile and promote the work among donors and supporters.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Minimum of 4 years in sales prospecting, member engagement or stakeholder engagement in a commercial, government or NFP environment.
- Experience with databases, particularly CRM or DMS.
- Research skills with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Event or project management experience in community and/or philanthropic settings.
- High-level writing and verbal communication for a broad spectrum of audiences.
- High-level organisational, time management and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Fundraising experience, with leadership of fundraising campaigns.
- Experience with fundraising platforms or other databases.
- Experience with financial management, particularly related to project budget development.
- Passion for climate action, clean energy and community-led action.
QUALIFICATIONS

Tertiary qualifications relevant to the responsibilities, including journalism, communications, public relations or equivalent experience.
