The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS), has a rewarding opportunity for Senior or Mental Health Clinicians with the desire to work in rural and remote Queensland. Our clinicians have demonstrated experience and confidence to work independently and are proud and passionate in embracing community members and the work.
RFDS Longreach Base has a unique opportunity for a clinician to work on a roster within the region and an opportunity for a clinician to provide telehealth consults in addition to approx. 4 trips in a 12-month period to Longreach.
We are looking for creative Clinicians that possess the following;
Since 2004 the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section), Longreach Base has been providing mental health support to people in the town and surrounding communities. The service operates on a hub and spoke basis with the Longreach office being the primary base for clinicians offering services in surrounding communities. The multi-disciplinary team consists of clinicians with qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing and Occupational Therapy. The Longreach Base provides three specific services – Psychological Therapies, Low Intensity Counselling services and Mental Health and Wellbeing Promotion.

Successful candidates will be subject to a Police Check, may be required to undergo a medical assessment and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Candidates are required to hold a current, unrestricted Australian driver's licence.
You will also be required to successfully complete the RFDS credentialing process which includes providing certified copies of qualifications/registrations and evidence of immunity or vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD).
Non AHPRA registered professionals will need to obtain a Blue Card prior to commencement.
