Proudly serving Australians since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides emergency aeromedical and allied health services for people in rural and remote Australia. About the Program

Flying Doctor Community Transport provides clients with transport at no cost from home to health appointments and funded Social Support Groups. It is a volunteer-led program, that relies on the generosity of local volunteer drivers.

About the Role

The Regional Lead will be required to travel across West, Northwest and Central Victoria to manage the operations of the Community Transport sites, ensuring a high quality and streamlined transport service including implementing enhancements to the program, and supporting a motivated and productive team.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage Volunteer Liaison staff to foster a team culture that enhances performance and achieves organisational goals
  • Oversee volunteer onboarding, compliance, feedback processes, and ongoing development of volunteer teams
  • Track service delivery targets and implement strategies to address community needs and optimise service integrity
  • Manage risk, incidents, compliance, and audit processes, and adherence by workforce, while updating policies for safe service delivery in community transport
  • Prepare information and data for reporting and funding applications. Provide recommendations on service optimisation and scalability based on local community dynamics and assessments of value / return on investment.

To be successful, you will need:

  • An understanding of community health or aged care or disability in the not-for-profit or charity space
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and management skills, including demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, develop efficient and effective work practices and successfully implement change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholders
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the capacity to think strategically
  • Demonstrated project, budget and financial management experience 
  • Current full Victorian Driver Licence and the ability to drive in metropolitan and rural areas

Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Working with Children's Check, National Police Check, a current Driver Licence and the right to work in Australia.
