As an Account Manager, you will undertake the day-to-day operational management of clients and the delivery of contractual obligations across industrial and primary health care (PHC). With your superior communication skills and focus on relationship management, you will deliver on contractual expectations, KPIs and quality services by working in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders. 

About you

  • Previous experience in managing similar contracts
  • Ability to adopt change management activities to achieve outcomes
  • Ability to liaise with leaders and key stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, sometimes working with incomplete information
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team to meet individual and corporate needs
  • Excellent decision making, logistical and organisational skills
  • Ability to think and act strategically, exercising sound judgement
  • Demonstrated experience in multitasking and having the ability to make optimal decisions in a timely manner
  • Ability to be on call and work outside normal business hours, if required
  • Ability to travel to sites, sometimes for extended periods
  • Relevant industry health experience, such as Primary Health or Pre-Hospital Care
  • Relevant qualification or current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Paramedic, Nurse or similar (desirable)
  • Remote medical services experience (desirable)

About the role

  • Manage the coordination of current and future projects
  • Effective and efficient contract management of all operational activities, internal and external facing
  • Manage contractual key performance indicators and expectations
  • Manage internal key performance indicators
  • Effectively manage time and resources to ensure that work is prioritised and completed efficiently
  • Provide high level customer service and account management with existing and future clients
  • Respond to service delivery concerns promptly, making recommendations and sound decisions considering potential business impact. 
  • Identify and support process improvement in line with strategic business requirements
  • Facilitate the purchase and mobilisation of consumables, equipment, and vehicles for allocated projects
  • Foster and maintain relationships and communication with key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Provide direction to the workforce to remain aligned with contractual requirements
  • Actively develop and seek business growth opportunities 
  • Identify, mitigate and/or escalate, risks or potential risks
  • Prepare and write tender technical information, if required

About Us

The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe.

Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA. A further 10,000 appointments are provided in primary healthcare clinics in remote communities, including GP, nurse, dental and mental health care. RFDS crews are committed to providing the finest care to the furthest corners of the State, using the highest standards of clinical care, aviation safety and technology to make a difference to people living and working across WA – the largest and most remote health jurisdiction in the world.

The RFDS in WA operates five bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra. Our 24/7 operations centre at Jandakot Airport coordinates complex logistics for patient retrievals and clinics across the State. We work in partnership with government, business and the community, and are proud to work on Country with Aboriginal medical services and many local service providers.
