The need-to-know

The Arts Hub is a special place where clients and staff alike enjoy the magic of creativity, power of play & the joy of connection!

As Rise’s newest Activity Assistant at the Hub, you’ll be the heart & soul of our events & activities, the spark that ignites excitement & the glue that brings our community together. You will get your hands messy & let your creative side run wild by helping our clients with an array of artistic & fun activities including pottery, painting, woodwork, needlework and much more! Additionally, you will be required to transport clients to & from the Hub on a 12-seater bus provided by Rise.

A typical day might include:

  • Designing & delivering valued & meaningful activities to clients.
  • Using your creative & artistic skills to assist clients during activities.
  • Promoting wellness, community inclusion, skills building & positive relationships.
  • Monitoring & reviewing individual client plans & goals.
  • Transporting & driving clients on our 12-seater bus to and from the centre-based program.
  • Ensuring cultural appropriateness of all activities.
  • Contributing to the development of volunteers and students.

This role is part-time working Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 3.30pm, with occasional Saturdays 8.30am to 2.30pm, located in Warwick.

The need-to-have

Here at Rise, we nurture potential, but we do need you to have a few tricks up your sleeve including the following:

  • A talent for all things creative & arty.
  • Experience in pottery, painting, woodwork, needlework & any other type of art.
  • Experience in delivering a creative activity program within a community and/or centre based setting.
  • Experience working with vulnerable target groups including those who are living with disability, aged people & people with mental health.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program planning, monitoring, and delivery.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with families, carers, advocates, and others as required.
  • Good administrative and computer skills.

Appointments to this position will be subject to a NDIS Worker Screening Check / NDIS Worker Orientation Module / requires a driving licence.

Costs for new checks will be covered and/or reimbursed by Rise.
