Timely dishes, nutritious and right, they make every meal a pure delight!

As our newest cook you will plan & prepare delicious, healthy meals in our East Metro Day Centres for our Aged Care clients. This role is a 6-month fixed-term, part-time position, working on Thursdays & Fridays from 8.00am to 2.30pm. You will be required to work in Mundaring, with occasional visits to other day centres including in Koongamia and Forrestfield.

A typical day might look like

  • Plan, prepare & deliver a range of meals including lunch & morning tea.
  • Ensure dietary & cultural appropriateness of all meals & food.
  • Prepare meal plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Place online orders & go shopping for supplies.
  • Perform stock taking duties.
  • Maintain cleanliness & hygiene of kitchen & all appliances.
  • Maintain documentation as required.

The need-to-have

Here at Rise, we nurture potential, but we do need you to have a few tricks up your sleeve including the following:

  • Qualifications in and/or extensive experience in food preparation for large groups.
  • Experience in preparing healthy & nutritious meals for large groups with varying needs, ideally in a community setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant food safety standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure, delivering meals to diverse groups.
  • Ability to work positively & collaboratively within a team & with clients.
  • Evidence of meal & other program planning, monitoring, delivery & evaluation.
  • Understanding of issues relating to Aged Care, working with frail aged, dementia & diverse cultural groups.
  • Well-developed communication & interpersonal skills.
