We are looking for a dedicated Therapeutic Support Officer to join our team. This is a 12-month fixed term contract (0.8 FTE).

About the Role

The Therapeutic Support Officer works as part of the Community Services Team and is responsible for assisting the Therapeutic Support Specialist and wider Therapy Team in providing high quality support and therapy to See Differently clients, by:

  • Facilitating the liaison between internal and external providers.
  • Providing administrative support to the team of therapists and the Therapeutic Support Specialist, such as uploading referrals onto client waitlists, following up status of referrals that do not meet compliance checks, following up client equipment/orders and additional tasks as required.
  • Working to improve the quality and safety of clinical support, participate in improvement activities, and contribute to a culture of respect, safety, transparency, accountability, teamwork and collaboration
  • Attending to the Main Reception, greeting clients as they arrive for appointments.

Your skills and expertise

Essential skills

  • Strong knowledge and background in NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of support facilitation, which includes planning, liaising, and advocacy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and experience in liaising with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds including service providers.
  • Well-developed organisational skills including the ability to plan workload, priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A high level of initiative, and a proven capacity to be pro-active & innovative.

Desirable skills

  • Background in a community service and/or supporting an Allied Health Team.
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds

Special conditions

  • Clearances including National Criminal History Check and Department of Human Services (DHS) and NDIS screening will be required before commencement.
