RSPCA ACT are looking for a Cert IV Veterinary Nurse that is a team player, who is self-motivated, adaptable, has excellent time-management and communication skills, and thrives in a busy, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult Support - Assist veterinarians with incoming animal health assessments
- Foster Care Assistance - Assist veterinarians with foster carer consultations and provision of treatments
- Community & Public Clinic Assistance - Assist veterinarians with public desexing clinics
- Medication management - Preparation of medications and communication of treatment plans
- Workflow Coordination - Assist with clinic appointment calendar and surgery schedules
- Document Control - Document all relevant health, treatment and behaviour information
- Pathology Procedures - Perform and record pathology procedures
- Surgery preparation - prepare for surgery and monitor anaesthesia
- Clinic Hygiene Maintenance

What RSPCA ACT are looking for:
- Appropriate qualifications, Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or recognised equivalent.
- Ideally 2+ years vet nursing experience
- Excellent animal handling skills.
- A great work ethic & team player.
- A passion for animal welfare.
- A passion for fostering great customer relations.
- Experience in not-for-profit would be an advantage.
- Experience with wildlife would be an advantage.
- Physical and mental fitness is imperative! Working with animals in a shelter environment is physical work and can be mentally demanding.
The role may include working 1 in 4 Saturdays and an on-call roster for Public Holidays with appropriate penalties and allowances.
