Foster Care Coordinator

Our Sydney Shelter is now looking for a motivated, energetic and experienced Foster Care Coordinator with a passion for animal welfare. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that a range of foster opportunities are advertised, induction and training is provided, and open lines of communication are maintained with a view to retain and increase our Foster Care network Sydney wide.

This is a full-time position and will require you to work regular weekends and some public holidays based on 7 day rotating roster.

About the Role

  • Coordinate the placement of animals into appropriate foster care
  • Maintain and update all records (including health and equipment provided) pertaining to foster animals
  • Ensure that adequate supply of food and equipment is available to Foster Carers
  • Ensuring high standards of care are maintained for all animals under RSPCA NSW care
  • Administer medications as required
  • Provide regular reports to the Shelter Manager in relation to foster animals in care
  • Relationship management with the Clinic and coordination of desexing appointments of foster animals
  • Conduct premise inspections and home assessments
  • Review applications and interview potential foster carers
  • Support communications such as social functions, newsletters, social media and events throughout RSPCA NSW and the community wide

About You

You will have the confidence to interact with both individuals and groups of all shapes and sizes and will possess strong time management and organisational skills.

  • Certificate III in Animal Care or equivalent demonstrated experience - advantageous
  • Previous animal handling skills (essential)
  • Microchip Implanter certification or willingness to obtain
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Solid communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to deliver exceptional results to meet identified program requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised with internal motivation to drive results
  • An ability to communicate clearly and convincingly and influence outcomes across all levels
  • Conflict resolution, mediation and problem-solving skills
  • Resilience in dealing with emotional challenges
  • Team Player
  • Ability to lift 20kgs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
