We’re seeking a passionate individual who can effectively engage with communities, drive initiatives, and support the social and emotional well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
In this communicative, hands-on, and multi-faceted role, you will collaborate with a peer in the same position to support the Community Director, in enhancing community engagement. Together, you will work to deepen connections and expand R U OK?’s reach and reputation within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Your responsibilities will include strengthening, sustaining, and scaling our initiatives to create meaningful connections and build further awareness and participation of the ‘Stronger Together’ campaign.
Ultimately, this role is focused on promoting emotional and social wellbing and the prevention of suicide. Your contributions will be vital in building lasting relationships and implementing impactful initiatives that resonate with the communities we work alongside.
We’re seeking a candidate with the following:
Our head office is located in Sydney, but if you’re not based there, you can work from regional NSW, Victoria, South Australia, the ACT, or Tasmania. This position supports remote work, with the expectation of frequent travel to our Sydney office. We’re dedicated to offering flexible work arrangements while maintaining strong connections with our team and the communities we work alongside.
R U OK? is a charity dedicated to creating a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide. We’re a small team that cares a lot about this issue.
If you are excited about this role, but only meet some of the requirements, we encourage you to connect with us and talk about this opportunity. We’re passionate about creating opportunities, supporting professional development and welcoming people from diverse backgrounds.
Lived experience is welcomed in this role and a supportive environment is central to our team wellbeing. Empathy, compassion and an approachable persona are highly desirable attributes for this role, and an external network of family and friends is encouraged.
