Your new role

The Rooming House Plus Program (RHPP) by Sacred Heart Mission (SHM) offers long-term accommodation and support to 66 residents with a history of homelessness and complex needs. Situated in a vibrant six-story apartment block, the program focuses on helping residents build life skills and foster community connections. In your new role you will:

  • Assist residents to engage with current supports such as; NDIS, Area mental health services and Community health services.
  • Foster and develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of the program
  • Ensure services are delivered to clients using social inclusion and trauma informed principles

This is a full-time role with regular weekend work available. A variety of roster options to suit your work/life balance are available and can be discussed at interview.

The person we're looking for

The successful candidate will have:

  • A strong commitment to helping individuals overcome social disadvantage, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact in their lives
  • Diploma level qualification in community welfare, psychology or social work
  • Be team focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Skilled and experienced in engaging with clients from diverse backgrounds, with a sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to handle challenging behaviours professionally.
  • Able to work a minimum of one sleepover shift per week

  • $38.47 to $41.25 per hour depending on experience. Penalty rates apply for weekend and afternoon shifts.
