About the role:

We are currently seeking energetic and creative individuals to join our team at Safe Steps Services. We believe in supporting participants to reach, aim and achieve their goals, hopes and aspirations. 

As a Support Worker everyday is engaging, at times challenging but rewarding! You will be responsible for supporting participants receiving the NDIS in accessing their chosen communities, recreational activities and everyday spaces.

When you join our team, you will be provided with wrap-around support, ongoing supervision and reflective practice (a fancy way of saying we value what you have to say!)

Your key responsibilities:

  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff/management, participants, their family, and friends to achieve a positive outcome and ensure a smooth service delivery flow throughout the participants' plan. 
  • Assist with liaising with participants' families and friends to explore new goals, ambitions, promote and empower participants to achieve their goals and provide a medium of solid communication. 
  • Increase participants skills with your active support and promote independence by enhancing their skills and personal development. 
  • Provide quality and professional support in line with participants plans, needs, and wants. 
  • Assisting participants with accessing their social community to engage with their friends and social groups to promote a healthier lifestyle. 
  • Implement strategies and programs to develop/enhance participant skills, identify areas of increased support and opportunities for services to help achieve their goals. 
  • Shifts that are available range from Monday through to Sunday. Timings of shifts may vary. Shifts may vary in range

Essential Criteria

  • Drivers license and access to reliable vehicle
  • Must be willing to travel to various location
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Working with Children's check

Desired Criteria

  • Community services experience or transferable skills
  • Support Worker experience (on hand training and ongoing supervision available)
