ABOUT SAMSN

Survivors & Mates Support Network (SAMSN) is a not-for-profit organisation that supports adult male survivors of child sexual abuse, along with their family and friends.

We believe male survivors can heal and recover from child sexual abuse, support others to thrive, and be leaders for change.

SAMSN offers a range of FREE professional and peer support services available to male survivors and their families regardless of ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious beliefs. These services include individual planned support, professionally facilitated eight-week support groups and monthly meetings, supporters workshops and training for service providers. SAMSN is a Redress Support Service, providing support to eligible male survivors to access the National Redress Scheme.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic individual with the right mix of qualifications, skills and experience to join the SAMSN team as a Programs Coordinator, working closely with the Senior Practitioner. The role provides high quality administrative support for SAMSN’s programs.

This position is part-time (4 days per week) for a fixed term of 12 months, starting as soon as practicable.

You will have an integral role in:

  • Coordinating all Eight-week Support Groups and Monthly Drop-in Meetings
  • Rostering and coordinating the Peer Support Phone Line
  • Supporting the Peer Support Phone Line one night per week from 6-9pm
  • Data entry for other SAMSN programs
  • Assisting with reporting requirements as required

Details:

  • Part-time: 0.8 FTE (4 days per week):
  • 3 days 9am-5pm, working in the Parramatta office
  • 1 day 1pm-9pm (either a Tuesday or a Thursday), working from home
  • Remuneration: SCHADS – Social, Community, Housing and Disability Services Industry Award, Level 4.1 (you may also benefit from a $15,900 tax free salary packaging component)
  • Reports to: Senior Practitioner

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination
  • High level of administration and communication skills
  • Experience using MS Office 365, including Excel, Word and Outlook at minimum intermediate level
  • Trained in (or willingness to obtain) suicide awareness training and Mental Health First Aid
  • Ability to work autonomously and responsibly
  • Valid Working With Children Check (NSW)
  • Current National Police Check
  • Relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in working in the mental health or community services sector, generally Bachelor of Social Work (recent graduates welcome); minimum qualification - Certificate IV in Health/Mental Health, and/or Diploma/Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work.
  • Experience in program rostering desirable
