About the role

The Senior Practitioner – PAST Program will oversee the day to day running of the PAST Program in the South of Tasmania. The Senior Practitioner will report directly to the State Lead – PAST Program and work collaboratively with the Senior Counsellor at Laurel House and the Mission Australia Case Management Team. As well as working with a small case load of clients, the Senior Practitioner will provide support and professional supervision to the Therapeutic Specialists in the PAST Program and incidental debriefing when required. The Senior Practitioner will receive ongoing professional development and clinical supervision specific to HSB, to ensure that young people and their families are receiving trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions specific to their needs.

Practitioners in the PAST Program are provided with specialised training around assessing the circumstances which led to a young person engaging in sexualised behaviours, and in turn identifying and delivering appropriate support and intervention.

Although your background may not be as a specialist in HSB, we encourage you to apply for this role if you:

• Are a skilled clinician with knowledge and experience in, working with children and young people in the areas of neurodiversity, complex trauma, disability and/or family therapy
• Experience in delivering a broad range of trauma informed therapies
• As a Senior Practitioner you will have demonstrated experience in program management including clinical supervision.

A current National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Card are requirements for all SASS employees.
