Who Are We?

SASS is a not-for-profit, community-based, education, prevention and support service offering 24/7 crisis response and counselling services for people affected by sexual harm, along with preventative programs. SASS is guided by trauma informed principles, and highly values diversity, continuous quality improvement and staff development.  

Why are we seeking new staff now?

Due to substantial growth, internal promotions, and staff undertaking specialist professional development, SASS have a variety of exciting opportunities (ongoing and contract, part time and full time).

What are we looking for?

Clinicians who are passionate about making a real difference in helping people on their journey to a better place. Specifically, we are recruiting for people to work in one or more of the following specialised programs:

  • Children and Families
  • Adults
  • Therapeutic Prison Program (working with incarcerated survivors of sexual assault)
  • Redress Support Service – supporting survivors of sexual assault in institutional settings (for more information refer www.nationalredress.gov.au)

We encourage you to apply if you: 

  • Are a skilled clinician with knowledge and experience in delivering trauma informed therapies
  • Hold a qualification/s in counselling, psychology, social work or similar with eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association (APS, AASW or PACFA).
  • Are interested in working in an area that can make a big difference to the lives of others

Other important details

A current National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Card are mandatory requirements for all SASS employees. Registration or membership with relevant professional associations is highly desirable. 

All SASS employees are entitled to full salary packaging benefits. These positions are located at the new purposely redesigned SASS offices in the Hobart CBD.
