Facilitation Manager - Programs

The opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Programs and Engagement and with the aim of achieving Satellite’s goal of providing supportive care for children and young people with family members who experience mental health challenges, the Facilitation Manager – Programs will lead and develop a team of facilitators (casual staff and volunteers) who attend Satellite’s flagship camps and retreats and participate in other programs and activities. You will actively draw upon the lived experience of this specialist cohort to develop their capacity to walk beside participants, building connection based on a collective understanding of shared experiences, empowerment and hope.

This role will also be responsible for the delivery and implementation of a strategy and a comprehensive workplace and work closely with internal teams across the business to facilitate growth, quality and program delivery.

Established in 2009, Satellite Foundation is a not-for-profit that connects and empowers young people (aged 8-25 years), who have families with mental health challenges.

Satellite aims to foster a strong connection between young people, their families, and the wider community. Satellite’s programs use a combination of creativity and the sharing of lived experience to combat isolation and promote confidence, self-esteem, and good coping strategies. Satellite offers peer support in a range of in-person and online programs, workshops, activities, and projects that are centred on connection.
