Where you come in:

In this part-time, maximum term position (15 hours per week through to end of June 2022), you'll be part of the team delivering Save the Children's mobile Play2Learn playgroups across Echuca, Nathalia, and Kyabram. Our Play2Learn playgroups are staffed by qualified early childhood educators and a family support worker working in a small team to deliver quality early childhood education programs and provide support to vulnerable or at risk children and their families in communities in the region. Reporting to our Team Leader Children and Families, you'll be based in Echuca, with travel to Nathalia and Kyabram required.

You will make an impact by:

  • Working in a small team supporting the delivery of quality early childhood learning for children
  • Observing behaviour of children and parents to assist in determining development needs
  • Helping to develop educational programs which are tailored to children's specific educational needs
  • Building relationships with the children, their parents, and carers in the programs

You're an enthusiastic and committed early childhood assistant educator. Your highly developed cultural awareness and sensitivity, partnered with excellent communication skills, will enable you to contribute to a child's early education and build lasting relationships with parents and carers. You're not afraid of a challenge and constantly seek to grow and develop. You're looking for a part-time role, with flexibility around the times you work.

This role requires:

  • Minimum Certificate III qualification in Early Childhood Education or Children's Services, or progressing towards
  • Experience in early childhood educational settings, including playgroups and/or kindergartens
  • Working knowledge of childhood development needs and understanding of stages and influences
  • Experience working with Aboriginal or at risk/vulnerable children
