We're on the search for an experienced, passionate and innovative leader who can hit the ground running to lead our Connected Beginnings program in Shepparton, a collective impact project which will support school readiness among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children across the region. Where you come in:

In this full-time maximum term position (initially 12 months, with the possibility of a further two years extension) based in our Shepparton Office, you'll manage a project to amplify the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities' voices to government, relevant organisations and the broader community to identify key priorities and develop initiatives to improve school readiness for our communities' children. Reporting to the Regional Manager (Northern Victoria), your primary responsibility will be to build local capacity and sustainability through a dedicated workforce development strategy, and to establish connections between parents/carers, organisations and school communities to enable a positive transition from home to school for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

You will make an impact by:

  • Leading a Collective Impact approach to a solutions-focused co-design process with communities and the sector
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with community, non-government, corporate and government stakeholders
  • Coordinating the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and research
  • Effectively communicating in various forums including high level meetings, conferences and media, to influence the sector and public policy
  • Maintaining a culture of accountability, respect and excellence across partnerships
  • Leading, coaching and supervising a high performing team

This role requires:

  • Demonstrated abilities in establishing and maintaining positive engagement working alongside Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Excellent knowledge of Collective Impact community development principles and practices
  • Proven experience managing and evaluating complex projects with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A comprehensive understanding of thematic areas such as early childhood education, child protection and early childhood development
  • Previous experience in leading a multidisciplinary team
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Human Services or Social Science and/or significant relevant experience
