We need a passionate, committed worker to work with children and their families as part of the Solid Families Program based in the Pilbara town of Newman. Bring your family centred-approach and work with parents' strengths to improve parenting skills and capacity. Foster lasting links with the community and encourage active engagement with all parents. This is your chance to support children to reach their potential and to hone your skills working with vulnerable and isolated families in Western Australia.

In this full time, maximum term position (through to June 2023) based in Newman, you'll deliver programs and services that promote positive approaches to parenting and family wellbeing. Reporting to the Team Leader who is based in Perth (but visits regularly), your role will work closely with the community and aim to develop confidence in the support network that we deliver. Newman is the largest inland town in the Pilbara region. A modern town with a thriving population of 5,000, Newman is based in the heart of the Opthalmia ranges and is 192km from Karijini National Park. The traditional owners of the Newman area are the Nyiyaparli people who have conferred custodianship to the Martu people.

Your experience in case management roles, and ability to think on your feet will see you identify parenting support strategies to support families. Your exceptional cultural knowledge will help you build strong connections with people from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
