Where you come in:

In this full-time permanent position, which can be based in any location in the Australia/Pacific time zone, you'll be responsible for promoting quality assurance across Save the Children Australia's programs portfolio, and providing remote support to Country Offices with monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning functions. You'll be part of our International Programs team, working closely with technical, business development and awards management colleagues, and reporting to our Head of Program Quality and Impact.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing technical support on monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL)
  • Supporting program teams to generate high-quality evidence of their impact, including through participatory approaches
  • Undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis to articulate impact and inform program learning
  • Supporting effective reporting and accountability to internal and external stakeholders
  • Reviewing reports and analysis prepared by project teams, supporting and integrating improvements

Does this sound like you?

You have experience in program design and development of robust monitoring and evaluation systems, particularly in international contexts. You can analyse both qualitative and quantitative data, and your empathy and highly developed interpersonal skills give you a flair for engaging differing stakeholders across diverse backgrounds and experiences. You're able to convey complex concepts in a straightforward manner and build the capacity of others through the way you conduct your work.

This role requires:

  • Degree in a relevant field e.g. International Development, Social Research and Policy
  • Significant experience in the international development sector
  • Proven program MEAL experience including design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative tools and approaches
  • Experience designing and implementing MEAL approaches, standards and guidelines with strong accountability and participation (Experience in child-centred approaches to evaluation desirable)
  • Experience planning and leading trainings and capacity development initiatives for diverse audiences
  • Highly developed analytical skills and passion for demonstrating impact
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, networking and relationship building abilities, including across cultures
