Scarlet Alliance is looking for a highly organised person with skills in managing community organisations to coordinate our executive support, compliance, admin and membership functions. The Operations Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Scarlet Alliance team to keep the organisation running smoothly through operational functions including:

  • Executive Support
  • Administration and IT
  • Legislative and Contractural Compliance
  • Event Coordination
  • Membership Management
  • Office Management

ORGANISATION DESCRIPTION

Scarlet Alliance, Australian Sex Workers Association, is the national peak body representing sex workers and sex worker organisations, projects, groups and networks.

Scarlet Alliance’s mission statement is to, through its objectives, policies and programs, work to advance sex worker rights with the achievement of equality and social, legal, political, cultural health and economic justice for past and present workers in the sex industry to enable sex workers to be self-determining agents, build our own alliances and choose where and how we live and work.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for effectively and efficiently coordinating Scarlet Alliance’s business processes and to support the CEO to ensure a smooth operational flow.

ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and has no direct reports. This role may supervise volunteers from time to time.

SALARY & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a SCHADS Level 5 ($47.50/hr, plus 3.75% increase from 1 July 2024), permanent part-time position at 30 hours/week (4 days/week), subject to ongoing funding or organisational change. There is a 6-month probationary period for this role.

Salary sacrifice is available for this position.

There is opportunity to work up to 38 hours/week (5 days/week) when other staff members are on leave.

LOCATION

There is a strong preference for this position to be based at the Scarlet Alliance head office in Newtown, however exceptional candidates from outside Sydney will be considered. Interstate travel may also be required.
