The IT Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring maximum performance across the organisation through the optimised use of Information Technology. The role requires close engagement with managers, staff, and external vendors to deliver IT admin and platform management functions.

Role responsibilities

  • Work closely with the CEO and COO with regard to overall IT direction and support for the organisation
  • Oversee product management and maintenance of platforms used by programs across the organisation to ensure business needs are met and enable long term efficiencies within the business
  • Support the development and maintenance of Cyber security strategies and procedures
  • Monitor compliance, implement adherence of company regulations and audit processes.
  • Implement and maintain IT infrastructure and oversee solution architecture management
  • Manage user support, the day-to-day queries as well as the onboarding and offboarding of staff
  • Manage external suppliers responsible for SOE / IT managed services, user support, and application development)
  • Coordinate all IT related projects as well as contribute to project development and delivery
  • Utilise data analytics for business goals and develop effective visualisations and reports of data that deliver clear insights into business objective
  • Contribute as a key member ensuring inter and intra-departmental knowledge / resource sharing opportunities are maximised
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings and reviews to ensure business operations are aligned with and meeting the needs of key stakeholders

Essential criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline including relevant industry certifications, with demonstrated experience in a Business Analyst or Project Management role for a medium size public or private organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to verbally communicate clearly and effectively with business stakeholders, external Vendor Partners, and internal IT Teams.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, business process mapping, including the formal representation of use cases and workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering projects applying adept project and change management principles, including requirements gathering, prioritisation, stakeholder engagement and demand management.
  • Knowledge and experience of a broad range of IT technologies and platforms across the Application and Infrastructure space.
  • Strong analytical and logical approach to problem solving, including interpreting data to produce meaningful information, and undertaking qualitative and quantitative research to identify trends to assist with determining business priorities.
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated experience in preparing high quality project documentation including business and functional requirements, performance reports, project plans, process flows, and business cases.
  • Demonstrated inclusive, collaborative, and engaging approach, including the ability to consult, facilitate, negotiate, and influence with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience of Right Fit For Risk, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 and the continuous improvement requirements and experience in audits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Microsoft Power Platforms

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in IT Vendor Management and understanding of financial principles as it applies to Information Technology
  • Knowledge and experience in Application Development, Data Networking, Unified Communications, Server and Storage, and Data Centre operations
