About the role:

Working as part of the Finance and Governance team, this position will collaborate closely with the Managers and Senior Leadership Team to administer the Policies and Procedures of the organisation and oversee the Audit of NDIS and NDAP.

The position has a key role in the implementation of the Best Practice Project and will include ensuring that the Best Practice Project policy review schedule is adhered, and company registers including the Risk Register are maintained.

Key Accountabilities include;

  1. Company Policy Governance – to ensure implementation of the Best Practice Project policy and procedure schedule review and Communication of any changes to policy across the organisation.
  2. Management of the Information Library – Ensuring that our staff and members have access to resources relating to Spinal Cord Injury and other issues.

  • Providing accommodation for people transitioning home from hospital, or who need a break.

SCIA was founded by people with Spinal Cord Injuries. We employ and support SCI disabilities and at present they make up 30% of our staff, and a majority of our Board.

We are a member-based organisation, with more than 3,000 members that include people with disability, their families, carers and professionals in the sector.

As a NDIS provider, we are committed to the ongoing improvement of our processes and procedures to ensure that our service delivery complies with the National Practice Principles and NDIS Safeguards commission

To excel in this role, you will have the following experience and capabilities:

  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Good written communication skills and the ability to write and interpret policies
  • Strong computer literacy and able to effectively work across multiple platforms
  • Previous experience in information management
  • Ability to keep up to date with key changes to compliance obligations
  • Demonstrated superior attention to detail
  • Ability to manage large amount of information in a systemic way.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess and demonstrate flexible communication techniques that engender positive and engaging working relationships with management, staff and stakeholders.
  • Passionate about ensuring good governance and compliance at Board level.

Requisite Education and formal Qualifications

  • Ideally, you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in a related field
  • Previous experience in a policy writing/ information management role is desirable
  • Industry experience in a related field
  • Previous experience working in the For- Purpose space is preferred

SCIA is offering this role on a permanent part-time contract working 15 - 22.5 hours per week.
