SEE Change are seeking an experienced part-time senior policy and projects officer to increase the impact of our organisation and our growing volunteer network of SEE Change Groups. This is a newly created position located at our Downer office, ACT.

The Senior Policy and Projects officer will work closely with SEE Change staff and volunteers, Board and members, and the ACT government and local environment groups on a range of tasks, including:

  • Supporting community-based behaviour change through transformation projects;
  • Building relationships with local organisations, government and business;
  • Management of project work and office administration (including financial);
  • Supporting SEE Change volunteer group convenors and paid junior staff;
  • Assisting with the promotion of SEE Change; and
  • Seeking new funding sources through grant applications and relationship building.

This role is for 21 hours per week at an hourly rate of $47.50 per hour plus superannuation. The role will initially be for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Weekend and after-hours work may also be required on occasions to support our community events. Remuneration is in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award level (SCHADS) 5.1.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated interest and experience in environment, sustainability and/or community development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy to develop and manage community development projects.
  • Experience in building relationships with government, community organisations and people from a range of backgrounds.
  • Experience in managing and supporting staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral and written communication and experience in developing policies and grant writing.
  • Experience in office administration and using a range of software.

Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in the areas noted under Selection Criteria 1 will be well regarded.
