Manager - Impact Communications

Social Enterprise Finance Australia Ltd

About Sefa

At Sefa, we believe there’s a better, simpler way to create real change in the world. So we help social purpose organisations build their capacity and resilience and partner with investors to unlock social impact – while generating positive returns. We hold our company values of Togetherness, Integrity and Champion in our hearts and minds as we work each day.

We, at Team Sefa are all about doing good – and having a good time doing it. We’re a group of avid tea drinkers (and some coffee connoisseurs too), each with a strong case of wanderlust.

A diverse bunch of generalists, you’ll often find us immersed in deep and meaningful discussions, always learning from each other. We balance our weekly team gatherings with a healthy love of chocolate – and the occasional choreographed dance session.

But above all, we're united in our commitment to making sure great social enterprises can thrive well into the future.

We’re excited to welcome our first Manager - Impact Communications - a pivotal role to help us amplify our story, engage our audience, and drive business growth. It is a part time role - looking for someone to work 3 days per week.

About the role

As Manager - Impact Communications, you’ll lead the implementation of Sefa’s brand-new marketing strategy. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll manage all marketing and communications channels to build our profile, engage new and existing audiences, and increase the reach of our services and programs. A key focus will be optimising digital channels - including social media, email campaigns, SEO and website - while also ensuring non-digital channels, such as thought leadership and events, effectively showcase the innovative work we do and the depth of our impact.

In addition, this role will focus on building relationships and forming partnerships with like-minded organisations to amplify Sefa’s story-telling and advocacy efforts. Engaging with stakeholders across the for-purpose ecosystem - including philanthropy, government, corporates, social entrepreneurs, and other collaborators - you will deepen Sefa’s understanding of the sector, ensuring our marketing and communications strategies evolve to meet the needs of our diverse audiences.

You’ll also own and manage Sefa’s impact data - ensuring it is collected, stored, and integrated into messaging that highlights our outcomes. This role offers the chance to help shape how we tell our story and measure our success in creating change across the social purpose sector.

This is a unique opportunity to shape our marketing and impact messaging approach from the ground up, helping us achieve our mission of catalysing investment in social impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement and refine Sefa’s marketing & communications strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Manage and optimise Sefa’s marketing & communications channels, with a focus on enhancing digital platforms (social media, email campaigns, website and SEO) and delivering high-quality non-digital initiatives (thought leadership, events, and partnerships).
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with like-minded organisations to collaborate on marketing and thought leadership initiatives that will broaden Sefa’s reach through a range of communication tools.
  • Engage with Sefa’s diverse audience - including stakeholders on the demand and supply sides of the social purpose sector - to understand their needs and ensure marketing strategies are responsive and informed.
  • Own and manage Sefa’s impact data, ensuring its effective collection, storage, and integration into messaging that showcases outcomes.
  • Create compelling content across multiple channels to tell Sefa’s story, highlight our programs, demonstrate impact and engage new and existing audiences.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of marketing activities, using data-driven insights to refine and optimise strategies.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers (e.g., graphic designers, developers, and media partners) to deliver cohesive and impactful campaigns, collateral and content.
