Senator Barbara Pocock is seeking a temporary, full-time Office Manager to join her team to be based in the Electorate Office in Goodwood, South Australia. Applications seeking part-time work at 0.8 full time equivalent will also be considered. The term of the contract is expected to commence from 20 January 2025 and conclude on Friday 4 April 2025, with the possibility of extension.
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984, classified at Electorate Officer A ($71,808 to $76,022). An additional Employment Staff Allowance may be payable for irregular hours and travel as required and agreed. Conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27. A generous employer sponsored superannuation of 15.4% also applies.
The Office Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective running of the Senator’s electorate office and works closely with staff and volunteers. The Office Manager oversees and reports on the office budgets & Senator’s parliamentary entitlements, coordinates office systems and spaces, helps organise events, and manages the Senator’s diary, travel and correspondence.
The Office Manager is part of a small, collaborative team with staff currently based across Adelaide, Canberra, and Melbourne.

This Office Manager role is a key point of contact for people contacting the Senator’s office and oversees the Electorate Office team. The Office Manager builds engagement between the public and the work of the Senator and assists in the maintenance of the environment and staff team communication.
