The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) aims to give people with disability better access to personalised, high quality and innovative supports and services. A specific focus is to enhance the independence, social and economic participation of people with disability and their carers. The NDIS uses a person-centred approach that aims to increase choice and control.

About the Role

The NDIS Centre Specialist will focus on the NDIS direct service team’s priorities and lead the team of NDIS Support Workers to ensure the success of the program including: local services for the people we support; undertaking non-billable functions for the team; and facilitating timely, responsive decision-making that promotes viable business practices.

Your skills and experience

• Certificate IV or higher in a relevant discipline (e.g. mental health, peer work, disability) or demonstrated equivalent skill with a minimum 5 years’ experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the NDIS context, Price Guide and Quality and Safeguarding requirements and application within a mental health context
• Previous success and/or demonstrated capacity in mental health, community, or disability service setting to achieve operational and financial viability in NDIS direct services.
• Experience in managing a team or as team leader.
• Demonstrated well-developed financial management and ability to work closely and collaboratively with internal stakeholders to implement strategies and maintain effective Centre Based Services.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the designated area as required, including overnight stays.
