The Forensic Reintegration Program prepares forensic patients for independent, self-managed living in the community through building life and social skills. It also enables the safe reintegration of forensic patients into the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Forensic Reintegration Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting forensic mental health consumers transitioning from Morisset Hospital through the Forensic Reintegration Program. In this role, you will provide 1:1 support for consumers during community outings and facilitate their participation in community-based group activities. Your efforts will focus on helping consumers achieve goals identified by their treating team at Morisset Hospital in collaboration with the Forensic Reintegration Program Manager.

1. Minimum of Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (e.g. mental health, peer work, disability) or equivalent experience
2. An understanding of the recovery- based approach to assisting people with severe and persistent mental illness
3. Demonstrated values consistent with person-centred ways of working and supporting the person’s choice and control.
4. Knowledge of the NSW mental health system, including the Forensic Mental Health System
5. Ability to communicate effectively interacting with stakeholders
6. Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Demonstrated computer literacy to use Microsoft programs, Client Management Systems, and the capability to learn other applications.
8. Ability to exercise personal responsibility and work as part of a team, reporting to the Forensic Reintegration Program Manager.
9. Current driver’s licence and access to a fully insured motor vehicle.
